Major mood swings related to steroid prescription possibly?
My son, age 2, was in a steroid for 2 days a few days ago because he had croup. His last dose was Saturday, and now today, Tuesday, he is so incredibly moody and cranky. Just way way beyond his normal 2 year old self. Crying and sobbing over everything. I thought he was tired. But now hes even worse after his nap. Could it be something to do with the steroid he had been taking?

100% --- total side effect. Once he comes off he will be normal again. A normal aggravating 2 yr old LOL

He stopped taking it a few days ago, could it still be affecting him?

It could be because he is still weening off of the steroids as a person who used to take them as a child. But it also could be just a bad day for a 2yr old.

I personally don't think so. He was only on them for 2 days and he stopped 3 days ago. I would be more inclined to think something else is bothering him or he is in pain. Sounds like my kids when they have ear infections.

steroids cause that but not IMO from a two day dose. I was on steriods for months and was moody.
