Child sick - home from school
My DS is in K. He is home from school sick. Do you pick up HW and keep up with work at this age? How does it work?

If my child was going to be out for more than 2 days, then I requested the classwork and homework from the teacher.

In kindergarten... no. Still young and not a lot of work. Unless it's more than a day.
Now my boys are in 4th and 2nd so I have the healthy one pick up or a neighbor kid.

I wouldn't pick up for a day or two. When my DD was out for a week, I went in at the end of the week to get her work.

We didn’t pick things up but they got sent home to make up once DS returned to school.

my dd was sick last year and was out of school for over a week (K) my dad went to pick up her work and she did it all before she went back to school.

I requested missed work for a vacation we took during k and they said no she can catch up when she gets back. There was nothing really that she had to make up.

I would ask the teacher just so they do not fall behind. I teach 1st and had a little boy out for 3 days last week. He missed a LOT. We move quick these days.

For one or 2 days no.
DD had the flu in K though and was out almost a week and we picked up some work for her to do when she felt better.

We have work sent home with one of the neighbor children even if he's out for one day.
