Birth control and vacation question
So I just started the pill last month. Before I was on the pill my cycle was about 23 - 26 days. I was keeping track. We are going away the first week in November for a week. Anyway, I got put on the pill and just got my period at 32 days. I will start the new pack this Sunday. When looking at the calander now it looks like I'll be on the fake pills the week we're away, which means getting my period.
Do I go right to the next pack so I don't that week or just get it? Not even sure how heavy it will be only because this was the first month on it.

Birth control and vacation question
You would not take the placebos, you would start right up with active pills.
This works better with some pills than others. I would give your doctor a call to see what they suggest.

Thanks. Was thinking that. I may just take them anyway since I just started. I'll see first how bad my period is or how long I get it for.

Re: Birth control and vacation question
Personally I don't mind getting my period on vacation. I prefer it to being bloated and fat and in a nasty rat mood- which is what I am like BEFORE my period. And then messing with the pills- especially since you just started them- might make your hormones all out of whack and lead to exactly that- bloating, crankiness, etc. I just bring my tampons and enjoy my trip.

Was thinking that and now looking at the pills I may just get it the beginning of the trip anyway.
Also, I know when I'm getting it when I want to eat everything and I take more of the boy's desserts than them. LOL

Depends upon the type of pill and the amount of hormones each releases. Call you doctor to find out if you can do this.

Re: Birth control and vacation question
If the pill you are taking is one dose all the way through the pack, then yes, you just start the next pack instead of placebo. But if you are on a pill that has different stages (Different doses of hormones throughout to mimic the natural cycle) that may not work.
For me, I hate having mine on vacation because I have endo and terrible periods. But if I had a normal period (Which I would compare to day 3 or 4 of mine) then whatever.
