Homesick candles
Has anyone else seen these? They have a Long Island one and this is the description:
“Escaping on the LIRR to better shopping, salty sea air, fresh bounty and if credit cards had a scent, we would have added that too!”
Um, what? Are they saying LI smells like debt and whatever “fresh bounty” is?
I have less than zero allegiance to LI and even I’m a little insulted by this.
They also have one that apparently smells like the city and unless it smells like the subway in July they’ve got the aroma wrong.

LOL I just saw an ad on Instgram for the Long Island one and I thought- what does it smell like? Traffic, shitttyy weather and broken dreams? High taxes? Overcrowding? Crumbling infrastructure? Depression?
How does one capture that in a candle?

Well with the way Diblasio is turning the city into a toilet, I would imagine it to smell of urine.
Because that is all I smell lately walking in Manhattan.

I equate "fresh bounty" to all of the farmland we have out east. We also have a lot of fresh fish from the ocean, and lot of farmstands.
Credit cards don't have to mean debt, it just means that we shop a lot. We do have a huge number of strip malls on the Island, so it's not an unwarranted statement...
