not keto by a long shot... but
i've stated on a few occasions that inflammation is something that concerns me.
i'm not 100% sure what my full train of thought was, but i decided to experiment and cut out bread/wheat.
so, for almost two weeks, i've had very little bread/wheat. in that time, i've experienced almost no bloating and i noticed that my "bad" ankle is "skinny" again.
today, i had two slices of pizza... not big slices, it was a frozen pizza.
oh em gee! my poor tummy is so bloated!
i'm the daughter of a baker, i love to bake bread... this makes me so sad.
but it definitely looks like this girl will be working on a mostly gluten free lifestyle.

Re: not keto by a long shot... but
Gluten is one of those foods that is inflammatory for everyone, but most people don’t realize.
If you have any swelling form injuries or excessive stomach bloating, cutting those foods will work wonders.
By reducing the inflammation in your body, your ankle may actually be able to start healing. It’s crazy how much food is medicine.
Good luck!!

Re: not keto by a long shot... but
Carbs make you bloat and retain watee. Carbo-HYDRATE. They hold water. Every gram of carbs that you eat needs around 4 grams of water to process in your body
So when you cut them out or down you will notice a huge difference in water retention and bloat, yes, swelling.
Sugar (and carbs becausere turned into sugar by your body) is one of the most inflammatory things you can eat. Also soy products, canola oil, vegetable oil, corn oil.

agreed! i am GF, but ate the gf bread here & there. then i stopped, and then i had a gf bun out last night for the first time in a long while. bloat city. gotta be careful with those GF labels.
it's the processed carbs, sugars. bad fats like those cheap oils and soy products also give me a reaction.
when you begin to eliminate things, you can begin to notice the different.

Re: not keto by a long shot... but
Have you tried the Whole 30? It's an elimination diet that is basically a reset button where you cut out a lot of things completely from your diet for 30 days and then slowly start reintroducing them to see what causes a reaction. The book is called "It Starts with Food".
