funny or too much and stupid?

i don't know the back story as to how a friend of SO's family got these items instead of them being with his mom, but here goes.

a long-time friend of SO is helping me gather a few old pictures of SO for the party.
i'm clearly
today, she dropped them off at the house. when i looked through the pictures, i found his hair lol.

this friend had the keepsake with SO's first hair cut!! again, how she became the person keeping it is beyond me... and i'm not going to ask. i might not want to know why lol.

ok. so... SO is bald. he lost his hair at a relatively early age. because of this, he's shaved his head for many, many years.

i got the crazy idea of creating a small altar (think "dia de los muertos") to the hair.

would that be cute and funny or is it completely stupid and a waste of time?

Weird and possibly unintentionally hurtful if he’s sensitive about going bald at a young age.

Sorry, but I wouldn't do that. I get it and do think it's kind of cute and funny, but unless hes super confident about being bald, it might make him feel uncomfortable.

I think that’s *maybe* a funny at home, just the two of you joke, depending on the individuals.

I actually think it’s kind of funny if he isn’t bothered by being bald. But I could see how it could go either way and probably wouldn’t do it.

Its a no for me. I'm creeped out by hair in general so to see it on an "altar" would gross me out big time.

i had a feeling that just having to ask was an indicator of it not being a good idea.

this is where my therapist has a point lol
i create extra tangents for myself to complicate things and continuously live in a frantic state of stress.

so the answer is: no creepy altar.

i've also decided to cut out a couple of DIY projects for the party. i'm streamlining what is left to do.

I'm the odd one out since I actually think that's pretty hilarious LOL, but I have a fukced up sense of humor. I definitely wouldn't do it for his party though because I know not everyone gets or agrees with my bizarre humor and I especially wouldn't want to embarass him or make him uncomfortable in front of a crowd for his birthday . You have worked too hard on this party to potentially creep out a whole venue of people by rolling out an an altar of hair! Creepy though that this person even has his hair to begin with You MUST find out the story behind that and share!
