What do you use? Nothing works. DD comes home from daycare covered in bites. I must have used 5 different ones and they don’t do a thing. I’ve started putting her in pants but now her arms just get it worse. She swells up horribly, the poor little nugget.

Last one we tried was the Avon wipes with piciardin. We’re not opposed to DEET, but the one I had with DEET didn’t work either.

Re: Bug repellent

I'm like a homing beacon for mosquitos Chat Icon (seriously, I stepped out of the house about 2 weeks ago and go no fewer than 5 bites in 90 seconds) and a couple of years ago, I started using this (among other things) and it seems to work well. It doesn't smell so great but it's not a nasty chemical smell, it's just strong. When I do spray it, it does work, but since I'm not fond of the smell, I don't like to use it.

Re: Bug repellent

How old is she? I swear by those bug repellant bracelets, I got them off amazon and they are supposed to be natural, but if she’s young enough to chew on it, that wouldn’t be a good idea.

Deep woods OFF
Mosquitoes are so bad this year.
With all the rain, we spray our yard with chemicals and still see them circling in the middle of the day just before the re-spray!

You should probably speak with your daycare. Why would the mosquitoes be so bad. Do they use a spray service? They should have the property sprayed for mosquitos and ticks regularly

Our pediatrician recommended off with at least 10% DEET. He recommended spraying the clothing and letting it dry. It really helps. When we hike we use deep woods off on the clothing and 10% deet on my daughter ‘s arms. Otherwise she is a mosquito magnet.
Be careful with the bracelets- many contain lemon citronella oil which can make young children sick.

She gets them everywhere. We were outside for about 10 minutes after school today and she got 2.

I took her to urgent care a few weeks ago after she got 7 of them on one leg at soccer. Her whole leg swelled and I was concerned about cellulitis.

She is a magnet.

I'm not sure the percentage of DEET in the one I was using. I'll buy another one with at least 10%.

My DS is the same age and I put them on his ankle bc his wrist was a little too small. I was afraid to double it bc he is a little meaty lol, so if your DD is tiny, they may work on her wrist just doubled.

Yes has to be at least 10%. I find that makes a huge difference.
To be honest, all that natural citronella shit doesn't do a thing.
