second to last birthday question!!! yay!
let me begin with thanks for putting up with me while i've navigated this monstrosity all by myself.
my go-to person in the family is knee-deep in her daughter's quinceanera so i haven't bothered her with my questions.
i'm getting 1/4 of the venue for the party. the front door will have my guest list and will provide colored wrist bands (like at festivals) to my guests for purposes of being allowed into our separate area and for the bar.
i am given the option of having my guests provide a secret pass-word for our guest list. i thought this could be a lot of fun. SO is a BIG raiders fan and the majority of his friends are raider haters. i thought that forcing his life-long buddies to have to say something stupid like "raider nation," or the like, would be fun.
should i bother?
and if i do, how do i say so on the invite insert?

I'd just write on the invite insert- please note, the password for the guest list is XYZ

Personally, I would not do it. People will forget, or won't read the insert clearly enough and it will create confusion.
And won't they still have to give their names anyway?

I wouldn’t do it. Seems cute in theory but just makes me think of the 90210 episode where Steve Sanders tried to exchange an egg for secret rave location info at a convenience store.

Honestly I think it's just for fun.
I am sure if you don't know the "password" but your name is on the list they would let you in.
I think it's just to make it like a speakeasy or whatever.
Come to think of it, I was out to dinner one night at a local restaurant and they were having a private party out on the patio/in the bar area and everyone was dressed like the roaring 20's. Flappers, etc.
A password would be cool for a party like that.
But totally not necessary, yes.
