Great escape water park
We are going to the water park - and I was wondering can you wear something over your bathing suit when you are walking around? I am not a water park person - at all.... I am doing this for my DC but the idea of being exposed in my bathing suit is killing me... do people wear t shirts over their bathing suits on rides? Lord help me, I planned on losing 28350325 pounds but that shit fell through...

Re: Great escape water park
I haven't been there but I have been to many other water parks and I usually wear a long fitted ribbed tank over my bikini. It's not an issue at all The long and lean ones from Target
Or just wear a tankini if you are self conscious

Re: Great escape water park
I walk around in my bathing suit only. Honestly there are people of all different shapes and sizes at water parks walking around in thong bikinis. I feel like it's one place you really don't even have to care!
If you are really self conscious I would get a pair of board shorts and wear that over the suit, but I wouldn't wear a t-shirt. Maybe board shorts and a rash guard.

Great escape water park
Never been to great escape.. but I have been to Kalahari and outdoor water parks and have def seen many people were shirts or cover ups while walking around- its fine. I also agree that I am far from a skinny minny but i never felt self conscience in a bathing suit bc there are all body types in attendance

ITA. I remember being at Sesame Place and seeing this woman in a thong string bikini and a mesh "cover-up" from chin to ankle.
But I usually wear a pair of shorts that I don't care about getting wet and bring denim shorts to change into. You can totally get a beach cover up and wear one though. You'd be fine.

Re: Great escape water park
I am terribly self conscious and could NEVER walk around in a bathing suit. However I do feel OK in a swim dress. Yes I felt like I was 60 the first time I got one but they actually make some cute ones and they give me the coverage I need to feel more comfortable. Swimsuitsforall.com is my go to for swim dresses. Good luck, I feel your pain lol.
I have a few, here's one that i like.

This. Oh the things I have seen! Lol
I just wear my bathing suit for the rides and a coverup to walk back to our hotel room.

Re: Great escape water park
So the thing is, regardless of how many people are walking around looking horrific, if you are self conscious, you are self conscious. It's not about how shittty everyone else looks. It's about how YOU feel. Hence why it's called SELF conscious.
You can have the perfect body and still feel uncomfortable showing it in a bathing suit at a water park. You can be 200 lbs overweight and feel fine walking around in a bathing suit. It's all psychological, not physical.
So even if every other person looks 10 times worse than me, that doesn't change me feeling a little uncomfy baring it all.
So I do get where the OP is coming from. And to go back to the question, yes, wear what YOU feel comfortable in. Cover ups are fine. A tank over your bathing suit is 100% fine too
