Uber to airport?
Has anyone used Uber to get a ride to the airport? If so did you find it reliable? All I have used in the past is car service/taxi but was thinking of trying uber as I believe it may be a cheaper option.

Yep, I did! Super reliable! I'll never call a taxi again. With Uber, you know exactly how far they are, etc. I was going to actually to take LIRR + airtrain but uber ended up cheaper for two of us.

Yes, do it! I used to pay about $70 for a car service...the ubers are more like $40 from my neighborhood. Def worth it

Thank you! Yes car service is usually $70-$75 from where I am (southeast Nassau) to LGA where I am flying from.
Do I just order the Uber about 15 min before I want it to pick me up? Sorry, I am an Uber virgin. LOL.

I have used it twice. Check to see if you can schedule it before hand. If you can just make sure you are there and ready because they will charge you a waiting fee if they have to wait for you.
If you can't schedule it ahead of time i would ask for one for at least 15 minutes before you want to be picked up.

what i do when i need an uber for a specific time, is go on the app about half hour before you want to be picked up and you can see how many cars are in your area and approximate timeframe it would take for them to get to you - all before you actually book. So if you see there are 6 cars in your area and they're all 5 min away then you know you have time.
I'm pretty certain Uber on LI doesn't have the ability to schedule ahead of time yet tho

We have. We used it in March to JFK. It was reasonable and worked great.

the first time I used it I couldn't do it but I am pretty sure the 2nd time which was in May I could. I am 95% positive I did.

Yes it is available now. I used it about a month ago from Suffolk to JFK. It was a really early pick-up (4:00am) and we scheduled the night before. Driver was there on time and worked perfectly.
