Where can my DH meet guy friends?

DH has always had tons of male friends but when we moved out to LI he doesn’t get to see them that much. Add distance on top of working all the tine he complains that he has nobody to hang out with for the occasional beer and game.

Any other DH out there have similar complaints? Solutions? He’s not on FB and I would have a hard time convincing him to join meetup. Basically he wants these friends to appear out of thin air and be awesome.

My DH is the same that he likes to hang out with the guys once in a while for beers or games.
We lucked out that our neighbors are great. The guys literally hang out in the culdesac drinking and chatting. They borrow tools or help each other out.
Is he athletic? When I lived on LI DH and I played beach volleyball and met cool people. DH also got into brewing beer with guys but there’s a place in Jersey they go. A local bar?
Any of your friends husband’s similar?
Or co-workers?

My DH became friends with a lot of my friends husbands. He also made a lot of friends thru playing sports. Does your husband play sports? A lot of towns have men's softball leagues or basketball or football? I even know men that play ice hockey in men's leagues.

My DH does have childhood friends, but like your DH, they all live pretty far and he doesn't see them much. The friends he sees the most are the ones he knows from work.

None of our friends are on LI, either. In general, we travel to see our friends. DH is lucky because he still works in the city so he can meet up after work.

I feel like it's very hard to make new friends later in life, especially for men. I honestly don't see my DH making new friends even when we start seeing other parents at sports and stuff. Even for myself, I'd have to really click with someone to put the effort into a new friendship.

ETA I don't know that I would suggest sports. My DH plays basketball once a week and never goes out after- and these guys are already his friends. They're all in a rush to get home.
