meltdown
So DH went out and got me a maple macchiato from starbucks. i was so excited, picked it up & spilled it all over. this damn coffee was the highlight of my day and i just lost it and started crying. i wasnt upset about the coffee, i was upset that the highlight of my day was a cup of coffee. i am overtired, exhausted, cranky, upset that i have no time to work out, nothing in the house to eat so i can try to lose some of this weight, and i am restricted as to what i can eat since ds has a food allergy and i am breastfeeding. i also feel like a cow - all i do all day is breastfeed and pump, breastfeed and pump, breastfeed and pump.
i really think i need to get out of the house. the twins were 4 weeks old yesterday and i've been out of the house only 3 times. when is it going to get better???

Re: meltdown
I dont even have kids yet and a Starbucks coffee would be the highlight of my day as well, so try to think in perspective, its not just you.
Your situation is 100% overwhelming right now. It may or may not get easier in the next weeks. I will pray for you it does.
When you get a peaceful moment, think to yourself " hold onto to this" cause its gonna pass and fast....
Hang in there!!! You truly are a strong person!!

Re: meltdown
lock yourself in the bathroom with some candles and take a nice Hot Shower. That always helped me

Re: meltdown
Twins can be overwhelming, especially breastfeeding twins.
I'm not there yet but I've done the math and most people don't realize that if newborns eat every two hours and you have two of them, well maybe you have a half an hour in between feedings around the clock. It's almost impossible to co-feed two at the same time at that age So there really is no time for momma to run to the bathroom, eat or shower, nevermind laundry, cooking or housework.
I'm determined to breastfeed my twins as well. From everything I've heard from twin mommies it was the hardest thing they have ever done. Most get so tired you just start to hallucinate
Right now you are my hero and my inspiration It seems like an eternity as the nights turn into days and you have no idea what day of the week it is but this soo will pass

Re: meltdown
Coffee has beome a highlight of my day and necessity. I spend a half hour getting the babies ready to go after eating and drive thru starbucks. It might sound crazy but it's theraputic. Realize that you're doing a great job! It's difficult to breastfeed TWO!

Re: meltdown
Definitely give yourself some credit! You are doing a great job! Bfing and taking care of one baby was hard, I can't imagine two! I think for me around 6 weeks things started to turn around. It's so completely normal to feel the way you do. It's really overwhelming in the beginning. Hang in there! It definitely gets better!

Re: meltdown
Go out get a pedicure, manicure go to the mall with a girlfriend, something. You need to get away from the house for an hour or two. I know it seems unreasonable but you sure deserve it. And on the way home go to starbucks and get that coffee. Lots of for you!!!! You are an amazing woman to be taking care of two babies and Bfing ontop of it all. Youare doing a wonderful job no doubt!!!!

Re: meltdown
One was tough I can't imagine two. Coffee is something to get excited about...me and dh would spend Saturday nights in CVS and laugh that it was our date night.
