I agree with your wife. I think the music probably as an important feature of the jumparoo. If it was a toy or rattle add on I would agree with you, but the music most likely makes the item fun.

Your wife is right. If you really need the baby bouncer music, just record it with your phone. Imagine if the friend came over and saw the music part lying around your house? So embarrassing. Your heart is in the right place for giving it to the friend so just go all the way.

Share the joy you have of the music with the next family. I do understand the emotional attachment to the musical features of baby toys. In a few years the toy will just land up in a box somewhere though, this has happened with all of our sentimental toys we couldn’t part with. As children get older there are always more things you get attached to that you will have the urge to “hoard”. Take a video of the music, it will make the memories far more accessible that way anyways. You will have many more things harder to part with, this is one of the “easier” ones since you can record the music.
