Soliciters using your cell phone to make robocall?
DH said he got 3 messages today that his number called these people and it was an automated message. Is it possible for soliciters to get a hold of our cell phone numbers and use it to make calls? Does this have anything to do with our cell phone provider and is there anyway to stop it?

I got a call yesterday from a 631 number and it came up on caller Id as a persons name, but it was a solicitor! Ive been noticing my cell gets calls and the numbers start with the same first 3 numbers of my cell number. The first few times it happened I was answering because I thought it was a real call. Now I don't answer.

I keep getting calls from people whose phone number is almost the same as mine saying I keep calling them, which i am not

This constantly happens to me too and I find it so odd. It’s my number with the last two digits reversed. I assume it’s some scam - but does that happen?

This happens to me all the time. In fact, a man called me last night and when I answered he said "Yeah, someone just called me from this number" and I said "no, I didn't" and he said "no really, someone just called my cell from this number and I hit the missed call button to dial it back". I know it was a spoofed call but I didn't explain it to him and just said it was a mix up. Happens at least a few times a week!!

We just switched cellphone providers so DH is wondering if it has to do with T-Mobile? This never happened when we were with sprint. Service wise we are happier with our new provider but I hope this has nothing to do with these spoofed calls. I do get calls from phones with numbers similar to mine all the time. I never answer those anymore.

we have sprint and get numbers with the same first 3 digits. it happens randomly. i stopped answering all unknown numbers - if it's important, they'll leave a voicemail

I have AT&T and this has happened to me for a few years now. I just try to ignore the call, they always increase if I answer one.

This happened to me all the time too! I was getting calls daily from the hotel resort lady...and then foreign language recordings. I downloaded an app which seems to help a lot.
