how do you handle...

... that one family member who ALWAYS brings extra guests when invited to a party?

i was having a conversation, this past weekend, about that one relative and how it's not fair for the person hosting the party to always have this issue.

was just wondering how other people/families handle that one relative.

Pretty much every party we have is an open house, even the kids parties, so extra guests are the norm. If it's a pay per person type of party at a venue, I would make it clear that extra guests the day of cannot be accommodated.

wow, I never had that issue. I cant imagine people bringing others without asking first

If it happens all the time I would say y something before I just stop inviting. Or tell that one family member who will blab it for you LOL

Re: how do you handle...

I’ve never had that problem. But maybe make it really specific of the outside of the envelope for them and an insert inside? When they RSVP, if they RSVP with more than you invited, then call them up or email. Say, sorry (actually don’t even say this), but the invite said blah blah and you said blah blah. That’s it. Hands wiped clean and goodbye!

I have never had that problem. I guess I would just not invite them anymore. I can't imagine that anyone would bring extra people to a party??
