Daycare Essentials
Making a daycare bag as a gift for someone who just had a baby and will be going to daycare at 3 months. Here’s what I have:
Personalized tote Personalized insulated bag for bottles Personalized labels Sheets
What am I forgetting?

Re: Daycare Essentials
I bought extra pacifers to leave at daycare- and those pacifer cases to put them in.

We had to send in bowls and spoons as well.
ETA - We also had to send in receiving blankets.

Yes we had to send in receiving blankets too. A package of those is a good thing to add.

Re: Daycare Essentials
Small take and toss snack cups or oxo tots snack cubes - will need soon enough!
Sharpie, pen that writes on fabric (I always keep one of each on hand to label things when I didn’t have a label handy and was running out the door)
Maybe a cute little picture frame for mom?

Inchbug Orbit Labels
These were awesome and they’re still like new (DS is 6). I could use them for bottles, sippy cups, water bottles, etc.

Burp cloths! Bibs!
Yup!
Our daycare doesn't allow blankets in infant cribs. So no blankets for us.

Ours did not either but they requested receiving blankets. She was only 8 weeks when she started so I'd often come in to them feeding her in a glider and she'd be wrapped in the receiving blanket.

Ah gotcha! Ours didn't ask for any, though I'm sure there were some in her diaper bag anyway.

Daycare Essentials
Thanks guys. I got a tote, bottle cooler, inchbug labels, sheets and extra changes of clothes. The mom is a graphic designer and already made her own sticky labels.
My Daycare also asked for blankets and I told them no. I said I’d send a sleep sack and they looked at me like I was nuts.

That is surprising because I thought by law they couldn't have blankets or anything at all in the infant cribs- other than a fitted sheet

It is a regulation in Nys nothing but baby and fitted sheet. However you can hold a baby with a blanket like in a rocking chair or after they get up and want some cuddles.

Yes ,that is what ours used the receiving blankets for. They would like loosely swaddle her or just cover her in it while feeding her

I agree that's surprising. In our daycare I see all of the babies swaddled in sleep sacks.

Daycare Essentials
Nope, not for holding them, it was for sleeping. She was the only one in the room who didn’t have one and I know this because there was always at least a baby or 2 asleep when I dropped off/picked up and every one of them had a blanket. I was the only one who thought this was odd, including the other parents. It still floors me even now and she’s 2 and at a different daycare.
ETA I’m also the only one of my friends who did not use blankets, including my bff. And I’m the only person I know who still has my kid rear facing over 2. Everyone thinks I’m nuts so I’m glad I have you guys as backup

Honestly if the state ever came in to inspect and saw that they'd be cited. That is a violation.

I know. I'm not sure how they weren't.
