Of course, because anyone who hasn't done anything wrong ALWAYS gives away money...
http://www.cablevisionclassaction.com/
On behalf of the three million Cablevision customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who have been deprived of Fox Television programming since October 16, 2010, a $450,000,000 class action complaint has been filed. The complaint alleges that while Cablevision engages in its battle with Fox’s corporate parent, News Corporation, it has ignored its customers, who are deprived of Fox Television’s content at an important time in politics, sports and entertainment.
The complaint alleges that Cablevision seeks to have it both ways, on the one hand refusing to pay News Corp. for its Fox Television programming, while on the other hand, refusing to pay any rebates to its customers. Indeed, under Cablevision’s customer contract, it promises to credit its customers for any programming interruptions that exceed 24 hours.
The complaint seeks compensatory damages equal to one month’s billings, which average about $150 per customer. Consequently, the total damages sought for all of Cablevision’s three million customers equal approximately $450,000,000.
In addition, the complaint seeks damages under the consumer fraud statutes of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The complaint also seeks injunctive relief to prevent Cablevision from failing to resolve contract disputes with its content providers, in timely fashion, to avoid such programming blackouts in the future.
The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York by the Law Office of Todd J. Krouner in Chappaqua, New York. You can find additional information throughout this website, including a copy of the complaint. I don't have the paper in front of me but it seems like you had to be a customer between a certain date.
They need to be sued more. They lie and mislead people all the time. No loyalty to long time customers.
