Parents with toddlers in Swim School
My dd is 2 yrs old and never been in a swim school nor knows how to swim. Which should i choose and why? New Hyde Park Safe-T-Swim or Garden City Goldfish?

Re: Parents with toddlers in Swim School
It really depends on the teacher you get more so than the facility. My son goes to a saf t swim. His teacher was in Levittown which seems to have decent reviews. She ended up moving to the Bellmore location which doesn’t seem to get as good reviews, however we decided to transfer our membership to Bellmore so he can stay with her. Doesn’t really matter to us since he kept his teacher he is happy, and so are we.
He had a few teachers in the beginning he wasn’t thrilled with and you can tell. He is two going on three.

We were not happy with Saf-T-Swim. We now use LI Swim school in Garden City and are very pleased.

DD will be 3 in May and is at the brand new Goldfish location in Farmingdale. It's great and in the 2 short months she's been there, she'd made incredible progress!

First we signed up at LI Swim School, stayed for a while but never liked the group setting for learning to swim, switched to saf t swim Oceanside where it’s 1 to 1 and have stayed there since. It all depends on having a great instructor that you stay with for the long haul. My 7 yo DD and 5 yo DS are both working on passing level 10 right now and my other 5 yo son is level 6.

Re: Parents with toddlers in Swim School
I wanted a 1:1 setting so we signed DS up for Saf T Swim 1.5 years ago. He LOVES it and is doing awesome. He started not even wanting to put his head under the water and he's like a little fish now! This weekend he swam the whole length of the pool and he's learning to dive in.
We started DD 2 weeks ago, at 2.5yo and she loves it, too. She, too, didn't want to go under the water, but did in her first class and says she loves the water now.
We go to the Bellmore location and are very happy. The only complaint is that they are so popular that it gets booked up quickly, so you do have to reserve your instructor and time as soon as you can. Other than that, it's great.
