Meal delivery for seniors?
My best friend’s mom passed away this summer and her dad is having a tough time. He rarely food shops and doesn’t cook. Is there any kind of organization that helps with situations like this? Maybe some sort of meal delivery? He is in his mid seventies. TIA for any info.

Meals on Wheels. I don't know what the qualifying factors are but I would try contacting them to see

Re: Meal delivery for seniors?
Yea I looked into it but it seems it's more for injured seniors who can't get around etc.

If none of these don't work out, even a "meal prep" company - some of them deliver.

Not necessarily. My dad and his lady friend get meals on wheels. They are both in their early 80's and cannot really cook for themselves anymore, she has dementia and forgets how to do things. They are still able to get around, go shopping to supplement the delivered meals, and do go out to eat once in a while. I am comfortable knowing that they get a nutritious hot meal every day. They did not want to burden me with having to cook for them, her kids are useless. They pay towards the service, I don't know how much though.

Thanks, I passed the info on for my friend to look into. Hopefully something works out. Makes me sad.

Re: Meal delivery for seniors?
Meals on Wheels in my area is $6.50 per day and includes 2 meals, one hot meal, and one bagged type meal. It says for those that can't cook themselves. I would definitely have them look into it
