Can someone explain ticketmaster to me
Was trying to get tickets to Bruno Mars. I did successfully after many tries however when I started the price was let say 79.50 and by the time i got them they went up $111
why do they raise prices during the sale I am pissed about it.

Re: Can someone explain ticketmaster to me
Nope in the drop down menu they were one price and then it switched I actually had it open on two different computers trying to get prices. Hopefully the pictures attach
ETA: the resizing I had to do to get it to upload sucks!! You can't really see it clearly Image Attachment(s):

Re: Can someone explain ticketmaster to me
You have the option checked for $111 tickets so that's why it offered you tickets at that price.

I know now I do but when if first started the options were $185, $135, $79.50 and $59.50
then after trying for a little bit I gave up then decided to try again when I went to the drop down the prices changes too $91, $111, $195 and $296
on one of the computers I was using show the first set and then the other computer I was using showed the second price set. Though on both computers all tickets were all coming with the prices of the second set

Re: Can someone explain ticketmaster to me
Are you saying they were the lower price in your cart and by the time you paid the price changed? That doesn't seem fair. I know their prices change throughout the day, but I think it should be locked in for the 10 minutes or so they let you keep them in your cart.

no they werent in my cart yet.
I don't think they should change prices at all (unless there are making them cheaper ). And if you are going to change prices maybe they should wait till the next day. This price change happened within 10-15 minutes and they made them all higher. My friend got tickets for the same section same day for the original price of $79.50 and I had to pay $111 because I didn't them within the first 15 minutes that is completely wrong!!

I had no idea they change prices!
The only thing I could think of is they were originally from ticketmaster. Someone bought them and they are no being sold 3rd party?

Maybe you got a pair of 'verified resale' tickets. People buy and immediately put on sale so they will show up on their site. By default their site shows resale tickets, unless you remove it under ticket types.

it wasn't Ticketmaster raise the prices after about 15 minutes once the sale started. I made sure not to get re-sale. If you do on now and try to get them you will only see the higher price. Find it unfair. They shouldn't be raising them just because they are selling so quickly. The worse part is I am sure the majority of the ones sold the first 15 minutes are by people who are going to resell them for tons of money over the original price

It's surge pricing and I hate it. I've only purchased children's events in the past few years and they also price that way. It can make the prices ridiculous. I *think* prices are stable during presales, but I could be wrong. Prices will go down if the demand isn't there, but then you risk it selling out or not getting the section you want.

I had no idea that they do that! That really stinks! Just another reason to hate Ticketmaster

I didn't know they did this, but I can see why they do. Supply and demand I guess. I see it all the time with airlines and cruises

Re: Can someone explain ticketmaster to me
It's probably not ticketmaster raising the prices, it's probably the show's promoter. It's dynamic pricing. It's kind of like the same as buying airline tickets. One minute they can be $79 and the next they're $109. Shows started doing the dynamic pricing a few years ago.
