Personally, I don't think the vinyl shed is more durable. Its easier to assemble, easier to move, faster to put up... but I wouldn't think its super crazy durable. I don't have first hand experience with having one for a long time, but I feel like its like one of the kids playhouses on steroids. I would guess its a 5-10 year solution.

The wood one should be pretty durable if assembled correctly, but will take more work and cost more than the advertised price. You need flooring in addition to the shed (plywood). You need shingles for the roof, and you need paint for the the exterior.

We built wood sheds at both of our houses, but without the kits. They were durable. We did use vinyl siding and built it basically like you build a house, besides some cheap windows. I'm figuring they will be there in 20 years.

This is pretty much correct. The wood ones are more of a permanent structure

I have both. Our wood one was at the house when we bought it. It's an expensive one from kaufaulds sheds out east. It's prob 10 years old or maybe more. It's rotting around the bottom in some places and the doors don't close properly anymore. However for its age I think it's still in good condition. It still keeps most of the elements out and the inside looks perfect still.

We just put up a lifetime shed. Dh did it and he said it was a pain in the a$$. Friends of mine put the same one up over the summer and paid someone to install it. They had problems with mismatching roof pieces etc. but We do like the Shed.

I guess my point is I'm not sure it matters on durability. They will prob last equally the same. I would probably focus on how much you want to spend (since the cost difference is huge) and the look you're going for.

Thanks. I decided on the wooden one and it turns out it is an outside contractor. I paid for it at the lowes store and they gave me number to call. They will deliver and install in 2 weeks.
