Salt Rooms?

Has anyone tried a session in a salt room? I have a lamp and have my doubts about the lamp doing anything but someone recently mentioned these rooms. There is one in Huntington

Re: Salt Rooms?

I don't think you can compare the salt caves to the lamps.

I've heard there are a lot of benefits to the salt caves, but you have to go regularly. I can't personally speak to any health benefits, but my mom swears her asthma is better for a day or two after the salt cave.

It looks amazing. You basically float in warm salt water -so you are super buoyant -in a dark room for about an hour. Seems so relaxing!

My friend in South Jersey has been doing this for awhile. She says it's amazing!

Re: Salt Rooms?

There’s a new salt cave in my town and it’s like the new big thing. I haven’t tried it but I’ve seen pics from people who have. Looks fun. They have sandbox toys for the kids.

I bought a groupon for the Montauk salt cave and went to the Huntington location.
I only went twice bc the groupon was for 3 times but DH went with me once.
It was super relaxing!
Its chilly but not freezing and you sit in antigravity loungers. They give you blankets and play low music. Its quiet and dark. I have to say that I felt like I was breathing better when I left but I think you have to go regulary to really have any benefits.
I did speak with a man that was in one of my sessions and he said he has COPD and he goes twice a week and said he felt better.

I go to the float place in patchogue every other month. Its the BEST thing ever. Each session is 90 mins. You shower before (Sanitary Reasons), float, and shower after. Its the most relaxing thing ive ever done. its worth every penny.

How much do you pay per session?
Also can you do a 60 min session or is it all 90?

I went to the Huntington one.

I don't get it.

Sure it was relaxing...but at $40/session, I thought I'd just be better off learning how to meditate at home.

Maybe if I had breathing issues or allergies I'd benefit from it...but I thought it was a waste of money.

I think I would get bored sitting there for 90 minutes. I would probably last 30. Do you fall asleep? Do you just really float without have to "make yourself float"?

Each float is $79.95. Sometimes they run specials, and I usually take advantage of those. Each session is a 90 min block, but that includes both showers and dressing time. At best youre in the tank for 60mins.

I thought I would get bored too, and I didnt at all. The first time I fell asleep. Ive been awake the whole time as well.
And no, you dont have to make yourself float. The salt makes you super buoyant. You need to TRY to make yourself not float lol.

Yes. I think they have 4 or 5 different rooms. I believe the one in Deer Park has a float tank too.

Salt Rooms?

I’ve done the montauk salt cave in Huntington. Started with a Groupon. Every Wednesday is half price, so $20 a session. I don’t think I would pay more than that. Yes it’s relaxing, but you need to do it regularly to see any effects.

The float tanks are great too. There’s one in deer park, which has also been on Groupon.

Groupon is always on ebates, sometimes at 10%. Plus Groupon offers 20% off codes on top from time to time. Try it that way before you commit bc you don’t even know if you’ll like it.
