Anything wrong with this?
You call a friend and ask her to go to an exhibit in NYC. She's excited to go and says definitely and that she'll get back to you with dates. About a week later, (no date yet to go with first friend) you make plans to go into NYC to visit a friend and that friend says, "hey, want to go to that exhibit?" You say yes, knowing that you would definitely go back with the friend you originally asked, once you decide on a date. Anything wrong with doing that? Do you think the friend you originally asked might feel bad about it or be hurt?

Re: Anything wrong with this?
No as long as you still go with her. I really wouldn't care if the person going with me was experiencing it for the first time or the 50th, who cares?

Re: Anything wrong with this?
Nope, a week is kind of long to wait to hear back from friend 1.
What if all 3 of you go together ?

Well, the friends don't know each other, which isn't that big of a deal, but mostly, the first friend is not available on the date that I am going with the second friend.
And it's not a big deal to me that the first friend hasn't gotten back with a date yet - we kind of left it open, like, we will definitely go, but we'll figure out a date "soon."

As long as you don't mind going twice, I don't see why not.

I see no problem with it but I had a friend get beyond livid at me for seeing a movie that we were supposed to see together with someone else first. I told her I had no issue seeing it again with her but she wasn't having it. She's also not the most rational person.

I actually agree with you friend and as for op I think I'd tell ur original friend ur going with xyz since u never heard back.
Going a second time jst makes it seem like ur going to appease the friend. I personally wouldn't do that.

But I wouldn't be going just to appease her. I already know that I would want to go a second time

I don't see anything wrong with it.
After you go with your friend, maybe text your other friend and say, "I just checked out (exhibit) with (friend). It's great! I can't wait til we go" or something of that nature. Do you feel like that would help?
