Have you considered a cruise? We did a cruise with my DS at 3 and he LOVED it.

Right now, I am considering San Diego or a cruise. I just have to get my DH on board.
My siblings are doing Dutch Wonderland with their kids and I know my DS would love to go on vacation with his cousins again (we've done it the last 2 years), but I really want to explore more. I might see if we can swing both vacations. If we splurge though, Dutch might not happen.

Well depending on when you’re looking to maybe book, Disney sails out of NY in September and October, that’s the cruise we took and it was fantastic. It’s definitely a splurge, but so worth it.

RC and NCL both sail out of NY/NJ during the summer. We're taking a NCL cruise with the kids out of NY.

I’ve done beaches (Florida & Carribean) and cities (Boston, Philly, California, DC) and had a great time in all! Even ski vacations were good (no, toddler did not ski).
Honestly, toddlers can be most happy at a new playground, so do it for yourself!

I agree just the fact that we are going on a plane and sleeping in a hotel is the highlight. He just wants to play anywhere so I pick places that I would like to visit and find some activities that he enjoys.

Beaches Turks and Caicos. You won't want to go anywhere else.

I agree. Although the first time we went to a Beaches resort was the one in Jamaica, Negril. DS was around 2 y/o and he had lots of fun. When he was 3 we went to Beaches T&C and it was amazing.
After reading another post I wanted to add that a kids club was great for us... not because of the activities, but because when it was DS's time nap we put him there, and he was able to nap in a cool place, while we enjoyed the pool.

How about Aruba?? The weather is always perfect and the island is very kid friendly. We’ve been twice with our young kids and it was so much fun. When DS was 2 we went to San Diego. We had such a great time! We also rented a car and drove to Disneyland, which is much smaller and less hectic than DisneyWorld. We all had a wonderful time and are looking forward to going back.

You can't go wrong with an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic, no matter what your age! Everything is there in one place. When your kid gets tired and he needs a nap, you can just go and relax in your room for a while. When you want to go to the pool, you go. When you want the beach, you go. When you want to eat, you go. Everything you want is there!

I would just do a beachy all inclusive, definitely the easiest and always fun! Have taken our little ones to all inclusives in Mexico and Dominican Republic, had a blast! We also did a cruise but was def not our favorite, we are beach people and the ship pool was not doing it for us, we found the cruise a little boring and rather be on the beach so our kids can have the sand right outside of the door to play in all day!
