Who is good at Excel? Need quick help
Someone else created the spreadsheet and I need to go in an add something.
She had made a drop down menu so you can select from a list in a cell.
I need to add something to that list in the drop down menu.
How do I do that?

Is the list for the column or the cell? Did she just add a filter to that column? If that is what she did, all you need to do is add your item to an empty cell and it will appear in the list.

Is it a comment maybe? Does the cell have a red triangle in the corner and is the list in a yellow box?

The drop down menu is pulling from a list. Do you know where she has the list stored? It's probably on a hidden worksheet.

I haven't used Excel for a really long time, but look for something called "data validation". And then it might be called "restricted values" and maybe something to check of about a drop down box.

Yes that is what I thought. It most likely is hidden because this spreadsheet goes to our customers for when they are requesting work. It has their site locations listed.
I have to try to find it- unless she gets back to me before that.

Yes you have to go to data validation and it will tell you the cell range of the list. I want to say in the data tab..
Usually people will put it all the way to the rightt or way down in rows

Right click on a tab and see if she hid one of the tabs that created a list?
Ah ha! That did it. I found a hidden tab with the list of locations!
Like magic!
