Essential Oils
Do you use them? Use a diffuser etc?
What do you use them for? the ambience or you buy the specific oil for a certain ailment or mood you have?
If you can share your experiences / equipment etc I would appreciate it.
TIA

Dh adds them to homemade soap, lotion, lip moisturizer, etc. We add tea tree oil to the kids' bath water and sometimes put oils near the shower for ourselves. We don't diffuse any or put them on our skin or whatever people do.

Essential Oils
I have lavender oil which I sometimes put on my wrists before bed. Supposedly it helps you sleep. I just find it to be a soothing and relaxing scent. I don’t have a diffuser or anything.

Essential Oils
A whole bunch of moms on fb swear they cure stomach viruses and colds in mere minutes.
My chiropractor suggested I use certain ones when my back flares up. They seem to help.

I forgot we also add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the detergent with each load of laundry. It supposedly helps prevent growth of bacteria and mildew.

I don't understand it is getting on skin if you put in bath and in soaps and lotions. ?

Re: Essential Oils
We use them, just diffusers. We have 2 diffusers at Home and my DH has one for work.
I use lavender and peppermint a lot, but I also have ecuplytis, frankincense, lemon, lime, orange and tea tree.
I put a couple drops of tea tree into the conditioner and hair spray bc I heard it helps deter lice.
I honestly use it mainly to re-energize the house, and my DH uses it to de-stress at work. I’d say it works for us, but we just like it in general so I think that helps.

I just mean we don't put dabs straight onto the wrist or behind the ears like I hear a lot of people do.

Re: Essential Oils
I use young living essential oils. I usually diffuse a blend of oils at night to help with sleep/relaxation and if anyone is starting to not feel well there are certain blends to diffuse. I feel it helps me. Lavender for relaxing or if I have a headache. Theives and Lemon for a healthy sleep.

Re: Essential Oils
I dont have a diffuser. I do like to use the lavender for sleeping and relaxation. It helps my one son relax if he is over stimulated. I also like the peppermint oil for headaches.

Re: Essential Oils
I got a diffuser for Xmas . I like the essence it gives to the house. If you go on pinterst you can see different "recipes" for the oils. I don't think it is curing anything, but it smells nice and relaxing. Also, you have to be careful about the oils you buy, there are alot of "fake" oils out there and people have gotten sick by using them.

Essential Oils
Do not put undiluted oil directly on your skin. It is too strong and you can get a bad reaction to it. Oils must be diluted first. Check out this site about using oils correctly. http://www.usingeossafely.com/
Plant Therapy has great oils if you want to try some out. They even have a line called Kidsafe that are pre-diluted oil blends formulated for kids.
