Anyone know what happened on 347 last night?
It took me FOREVER to get home last night. I assumed there was an accident but even the neighborhood I cut through had police offers with tape everywhere. I didn't see anything on the news though.

Anyone know what happened on 347 last night?
I was trying to find out the same thing. My usual 25 min commute took over an hour- cutting through other roads. But, I always try to remember when I'm stuck in traffic like that, that no matter how much it stinks to be caught in the traffic, whatever happened to someone else is probably much worse

Yes I agree. On Monday night it took me 1/2 an hour to get from my office in the Hauppauge industrial park to the LIE (which should take 3 min tops)
Motor Pkwy was backed up so bad ,people were backing up through intersections when the light changed, blocking the box, honking horns, nightmare.
THen I saw on News 12 FB Page that a state trooper was hit by a car and serioulsy injured on the Sag. I have to imagine the closure that cuased backed up every other road on LI (Because let's face it, LI is a death trap and when something happens on one road, the others are screwed) and I felt like, Ok well maybe my delay getting home wasn't so bad.

I feel so terrible for that Trooper. He was hurt very badly. I really hope he makes it and is able to have a normal life again

I know. These cops have such a dangerous job walking around on the highways with the way people around here drive. It's terrifying
