How do you know when airlines release more flights?

I am looking to go somewhere in sept. Most airlines are only up to August at this point. Any idea when we could find out that info?

Which airlines are you looking at? I know the more budget airlines like Jetblue, Frontier, Spirit and Southwest only do like 9 months out. I would google the airline you are looking at and check their policy

(and I shouldn't even say budget, since many of these are more expensive than Delta or American!)

You can search southwest flight release and it will bring you to a page saying when they expect to release next set of travel dates.
