Clothing sizes
If an 8 yr old boy wears size 12 shirt and pants, would that be a medium or large for clothing sized that way?

It depends on the individual manufacturer. You can see the size chart on the website though.
At Target in the Cat and Jack line for example, a size 12 is a boy's large
