Experiences for gifts
Hi all,
So, I'm done with all the STUFF in my house! Toys on top of toys on top of toys and tons of clothes as well. I'd like to mention it to my family that instead of buying stuff for my kids (4 and 1) that they get them "experiences" - such as adventureland season passes, movie gift cards, etc.
I need help coming up with more -
My kids (especially the 4 yo) loves music, dancing, cooking, etc.
I live in Nassau buy I don't mind driving for some cool experiences.
Thanks!!

Re: Experiences for gifts
I am looking into the same for my kids. I'm getting them tickets to see Disney on Ice in January at the Coliseum.
ETA: There's a Groupon for it too.

Re: Experiences for gifts
I'd like to do this but I feel like DD would be kind of dissapointed to not get anything tangible to play with. She loves getting toys and games and dolls on Christmas and her Birthday.
I feel like she wouldn't really "get" the thrill of something that isn't going to happen for a few months like a show or season tickets to a museum or something.
Maybe when she's older. Right now she's all about the tangible and the here and now.

Re: Experiences for gifts
This will be the second year i'm doing this with my niece. I'm so done with buying her toys that collect dust. She's 10 so a little older but you could look into some of these.
Last year I did: Ice skating Nail salon Digglerland in NJ (she LOVED) Adventure Park (she LOVED, couldn't wait to go back) Dave & Busters Bowling I'm thinking about a trampoline place, indoor go kart, Splish Splash and Island Rock Gym

Re: Experiences for gifts
I do this for my son... last year I asked for open bounce passes at bounce U and this year I may tell people to get saf-t-swim gift cards for swim lessons.

Re: Experiences for gifts
I try to give experience gifts that are close to the holiday, even a month before so they know X is for the holidays. As for what to give, a photo of the place or event with the tickets. What about a Broadway or local theater show, music together or acting class?

Experiences for gifts
We started doing this last year, but we still gave them real presents. We got a group ticket for Adventure Park, Broadway tickets and a musical theatre class. It was a hit.

Experiences for gifts
I LOVE when people give experience gifts. We’ve gotten adventureland gift cards, movie gift cards, cooking subscription boxes (Foodstirs and Kidstirs), Kiwi Crate

How do you pick your seats with this Groupon?
