If you want old school, fancy, waiters in suits Italian, try Sempre Vivolo in Hauppauge.
Best kept secret.
It's dark and cozy in there in an old school way and the food is consistently excellent.
It's not trendy- but that's what I like about it.

The Harvest in Montauk is my fave 
Thyme in Roslyn is really cute too!

I haven't been to the new location, but the Lake House in Bay Shore was (and I have heard still is) very romatic

LOOOOOOVE the Lake House. It's amazing. We just wanted to do something different. We love Sempre Vivolo too. I feel like we always go to the same spots. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I have some menus to check out.

The new Lake House is very nice but not as intimate as before. Lots of windows looking out onto the water and a deck where you can eat dinner in the warmer weather. Also crystal chandeliers and a fairly open floor plan. Food was good.
