My 76 year old mom fell and no one helped her up
I have never been more disgusted in my life. I had to go out this afternoon so i left two big buckets of candy on my steps for trick or treaters. I told my mother don’t worry if they get emptied, I’d fill them when I get back.
Well, she felt bad and when to fill them up and fell off the steps and landed in front of the walkway on her back.
Now here is the disgusting part....not one kid stopped to help her. She said several middle school aged kids passed by but not on offered to help her up.
What the hell is wrong with kids today. Do I expect a 12-13 year old to lift her up? No. But they could have certainly called for help. I bet one of them had a phone. If not, they could have run to a neighbors house until they found someone home and gotten help.
Thankfully she managed to finally crawl back to the steps and pull herself up. She is bruised and scraped up but more embarrassed than seriously injured.
To the parents of the kids who passed her by, you are doing a ****** job of raising your kids.

Omg!!! Im so sorry this happened. Glad shes ok. I would think almost teens/ teenagers would at least ask if she was ok. My niece and nephew are this age and would have definately asked if she needed help. Ugh. This makes me very very upset.

That's horrible. I'm so sorry that happened to her. What a bunch of jerks!
My 5yo fell at least twice running to keep up with her friends. Both times her candy went flying and she was so upset but before she could even get up her friends had it all back in her bucket. These are 3-5 year olds who apparently have more compassion than middle schoolers. Sad.

This made me so angry to read! I'm sorry your mom went through that, and it was so cold out yesterday too! I hope she is ok. You know those little jerks had a cell phone on them. They could've called for help! Or at least found a neighbor to help. Those parents must be really proud of the selfish little asssholes they're raising. What if she had a serious injury or medical emergency??

And the people who are more concerned with whipping out their phones to record tragedies happening than helping.
Technology and social media have truly ruined this world and it's sad
I remember this from a few years back. Taking selfies with a goddman selfie stick at the scene of a building explosion where people died. I love that the Post put these assholes on blast.

My mom is 75 and I can totally understand where you are coming from.
I feel like some kids don't have the sympathetic gene. Unless they can learn it from an app on their phone....

OP - I am so incredibly sorry and so incredibly ANGRY that no one helped your mother. My mom is 78 and the thought of having her lying there helpless makes me want to cry.

NONE of this surprises me. Yep its definitely all in how as parents we raise our kids. NEVER assume your kids will do whats right we have to open our mouths and teach our children. Teach our kids even when your friends are unkind and don't help you make the difference and help.
I always smile when i see my son hold the door open for people, often not even a word of thanks. I do encourage him to keep doing and being kind though.
Kindness is rare with this upcoming generation.
