Newborn question

How soon does a newborn open their eyes? Dd had hers open right after she was born but wasnt sure if thats normal. At what point would there be concern?

This. I don't think she closed them until she was 2 months old....

Right away. If they were crying their eyes were closed, but any time they calmed down they has their eyes open. I have pics of them in the delivery room with their eyes open.

All three of mine opened their eyes right away.

What's the concern- a newborn not opening their eyes?

Yeah I don't see what would be concerning about this. I think it's normal for them to have a very alert period right after birth. Both my girls had their eyes open right away, even my preemie who was just hanging on was wide awake right after birth.
