Cricut machine

I'm considering buying a cricut machine to make items to sell. Is it difficult to learn how to use it? I'm wondering how much time I'd have to put into learning how to use it. Also, what model would you recommend and how much should so expect to spend?

It is not difficult to use or learn for personal use. To use to sell things is different. The market is saturated with people who bought a cricut and started selling stuff. Some people opened the box and posted stuff for sale and others took time to learn and perfect what they do. Which of those people that you choose to be will greatly predict your success. With the market so saturated you need to stand out. Your product need to be better and unique. Your customer service and turn around time needs to be spot on. You will be competing with 20 other people in your town for every sale. I do it so I know. I took a year of learning before I offered anything for sale. And have slowly built my business. I now have a customer base, referals and repeat customers. But I have to work my business every day. How much you can expect to spend is determined by what you want to do, so I really can't answer that.

There is definitely a learning curve, you can't just take it out of the box and design items that people will want to buy.

I don't have a Cricut, I have a Silhouette Cameo, and LOVE it. So user friendly, doesn't require you to be connected to the internet to design and cut. I make so many things! I especially love it for party stuff. I've made soooo many cute things for our parties. I used to sell a ton of stuff, but got sick of chasing down people to pick up their items (usually friends the most!).

I have the Explore. I LOVE it. I don't sell. there's def a learning curve but I didn't find it hard to use.
I do agree with PP it's saturated market. There's so much on Etsy that's actually illegal and every word and phrase is trademarked or copyrighted. You can't sell disney stuff legally. phrases like boy mom and mom life are trademarked and they come after you and sue you.
I am in a ton of FB groups for Cricut it's unbelieable what happens.

BUUUTTTT I love it for birthday banners and making fun stuff for my home and kids

I have one. But I don't sell anything, just use it for personal use. It takes some time to learn. It's not very intuitive and be prepared for a lot of mistakes, frustration and wasted materials early on. It doesn't come with instructions either but there are tons of videos online with tips and techniques. Also, just a tip the circut brand materials are expensive and low quality. Buy any vinyl and heat transfer vinyl through amazon or vinyl craft shops.

FYI, Michael's sells Siser easy weed HTV now, in the rolls, and you can use coupons on it.

I have the cricut and enjoy using it for party stuff. I also sell custom cakes and I've used it to make cake toppers, which I include in the price of the cakes. I'm nowhere near the expertise level of a person who sells cricut made goods successfully, but I love it for personal use. I've made invitations, banners, cake toppers, etc.
