a little scared... wanting to live in medical denial (not too serious)

i know i need to go to the eye doctor. not just the usual i'm-old-and-need-reading-glasses.

the last time i went, they did a fancy-schmancy scan of my eyeball and found a cataract... on each eyeball.

it's gotten to the point that my vision is suffering Chat Icon

i don't want to go. i'm afraid i'll need surgery. but i know i have to go, because i know i'll need surgery. but i don't wanna!!

*insert pout here*

I hear you - i have massive massive medical anxiety to the point it's debilitating.

But the surgery for cataracts is really easy- my MIL and FIL both had it done and were fine. It was super quick, in and out, and they were fine!
And think of how much better you will see!

You and I have become friends.

You know I would not steer you wrong.

Its time to put on your big girl panties and go to the doctor. Yes, you WILL need surgery.

But don't you want to be the best you can for your son? Be the BEST example for him?

he needs you...and if you let this go it gets worse and worse and you could loose your sight.

Call the doctor TODAY and make that appointment.

if your son were in the same situation what would you tell him?

Heart you. Call the doctor today L.

i don't wanna be a grown up.
but i will.

ok. in a good way... you made me feel like a dope lol. so, what is a girl to do, you might ask. i called our vision carrier and they are sending me all my information and a list of providers in the area... being that i'm a relatively new employee, i hadn't used my vision benefits yet. so, as soon as the package arrives, i will look for a doctor and work towards getting this taken care of.

but i'm still going to pout. Chat Icon Chat Icon
