flying with a 6 month old

first time flying with a baby. any tips?

it's a short flight - 2.5 hours max. im stressing about how she will do on the flight, and about bringing her food on etc.

we were always the couple that would pray that we didn't have to sit next to a couple with a baby... now we are that couple obviously I am hoping she is a stellar flyer. we travel at least 1-2 times a year. any tips to help this process out will be great!

Try to feed her bottle or breastfeed on take off, the sucking will help her ears pop. A lot of times when we've flown my kids have fallen asleep from taxing out to the runway...the bouncing/moving plane was the right combination to make them pass out

im praying she falls asleep hahah She is due to eat right around the time we takeoff, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm hoping she falls asleep afterwards and misses the landing LOL

i wont have a problem bringing already made formula bottles on the plane right? I have to mix cereal in her bottle, so i can't just bring powder and buy water there.

I've done it, usually they just take the bottles out of your cooler bag and swab the bag & bottles with strips to test for explosive residue. Sometimes they'll swab my hands also.

that's not so terrible. I assume they would have to swab the stroller anyway since i am bringing that, so I will just add to the list of things they need to check
is there a separate place to go at security with strollers etc? i figured i would just ask when i got there. She will probably be sleeping still so she will be in her infant car seat in the stroller so hopefully she stays asleep until we have to take her out to get on the plane.

You will go through the regular security line and they will make you put all baby gear through the x-ray machine. You need to hold the baby and walk through with her, so she is going to need to be taken out of the car seat. I always took DD out of the car seat as soon as we got to the airport and carried her in a carrier through security, that way my hands were free and I didn't have to wake her when we went through security. TSA agents will then motion you aside and check every single bottle you bring. It can be time consuming so definitely make sure you leave extra time.
They will sometimes let you go through TSA precheck with a baby so it's a shorter line, but that's not always the case.

For the plane ride I would feed her at take off and landing and hopefully she will sleep! If not bring a few books and small toys for her to play with.
