I think its just grime from the tank.

Call an emergency plumber. Your pilot light could have blown. Easy fix if so.

I'm in Babylon. I still didn't get anyone. 2 returned my call and wanted 290 and 195 to make the service call, that didn't include if it needs a part. I'm almost certain the line just needs "to be bled" air and sludge.

Oil burner? Call Ken 1 (516) 316-2755. He's very reasonable. He came out to us in the middle of a blizzard.

Thanks! I left a vm hopefully he calls back. even if he comes tomorrow thats fine. I'm just gonna put the kettle on now :)

He never called back.
My daughter's friend dad fixed it today and charged me $25 for a filter and something else. He dropped my daughter after tennis practice today and the girls ate while he fixed it.
He just is handy and did it. I'm so grateful.

That's awesome. You just saved yourself a boat load of cash.
My dh taught himself to service our oil burner by watching you tube videos and studying online etc.
He said it's pretty simple to work on if you are a handy person.
Saves us a ton
