my "Favorite Things Party" recap... my crazy cuban family lol

if i did this correctly, the link is to my FB post about our crazy "favorite things" party.
i want to say it was a success, everyone is already asking for the next one. i think i might do this 2x year.
things i learned:
* my family is LOUD... that was amplified by my little house lol
* limit your guests to about 15 people. we had 16. think of gift exchanges/white elephants... it took a bit of time to go through the items people brought. any longer and it could have been chaos lol
* my family doesn't know how to follow directions. a request for appetizers turned into mac and cheese casseroles, lasagna, etc lol but we ate well 
* we had a lot of behind the scenes bribes and trades... just like when we do white elephant at christmas
what i will do differently, next time:
* different time of year when it's not so warm so we can do it outside... my living room is small. we were at max capacity
* take more pictures
* not worry about favors. everyone went home with goodies
* specify on the invite that it's one favorite item three times. some people brought three different favorite things... but it was still awesome.
something i want to try:
* have the party around a theme... makeup items, crafty-diy items, etc
what we actually did:
* food first, because food
* i asked everyone to put their name on three slips of paper and put them in a little plastic fish bowl from the dollar store.
* i then asked everyone to fill out the quick 5-question questionnaire. this is how we introduced each person... "this person's favorite color is..., her favorite movie is... this is XXX" then that person told the group about her favorite item and picked three names from the bowl to give one of her items to.
* then coffee and desserts... mmm
overall: we had a wonderful ladies' night and will definitely do it again

What kind of things to people bring? Would love to host one of these.
as you can see from the pictures, our ages ranged widely. the youngest person is 10 and the oldest is 60. the items were:
* candles
* facial mask
* dry shampoo
* cleaning products
* decorative dish (for holding rings and keys)
* mug with tea and chocolate
* chocolates
* vegan lipgloss and argan oil
* eye liner
* loofah and bath salts
* tote bags
* cooling towels
* decorative scarves
* ball
i might be missing an item or two, but i think that was everything.
i set the limit at $7 and three items. on pinterest, i've seen them range in cost up to $10 and number of items up to 5. since i invited young girls, i wanted to make sure i wasn't creating a burden for their mom's.
