Toddler Dance Class
I signed my DD up for dance class at a dance studio. It's for 2 year olds. She's on the younger side (just makes the studio's age cutoff) and I have a feeling it will be a bust.
What do they do with them at this age? Do they follow the teacher? Or is it more creative movement type stuff? I'm trying to teach her ballet positions and she laughs in my face and yells "feet!" They may ask her to leave

Toddler Dance Class
We did tap/ballet/creative movement. The teacher stands in front and the students try to copy her movements. Even in the 4-5 year old class, they didn't worry too much about how well the children were performing the steps. I started DD2 just before she turned 2 and she was fine. Some of the 2 year olds will just stand and watch and dance when they feel like it.

Toddler Dance Class
Dd took dance at that age and it was mostly fun stuff. Marching in a line around the room holding batons, shaking pom poms , songs with hand movements like "head, shoulders, knees &toes", fluttering around like butterflies. All really adorable, fun stuff and my dd loved it. Then when she went in to the 3 year old class they started to teach more technical stuff, and she didn't like it as much.

Re: Toddler Dance Class
My dd started dance at 2 years and 2 months and she loved it. The teachers were so fun. She did tap and ballet combo. They did a circle time basically with fun songs in the beginning of class and than they would do tap across the floor and than simple ballet mostly practicing to be butterflies. They were all in the recital and they all knew their dance and were of course adorable. She is 5 now and takes 3 dance classes and loves it. It has been a great experience for her.

Re: Toddler Dance Class
Lol! We did a trial class and it was very $$$ and total play to music. I thought a Gymboree class was better for that age.
I put DD in a "true" ballet class (she's 5.5 and just makes the cut off for one studio).
