Car seat question...
I have a son who is turning 4 this month, and another who is 10 months old. I currently have Britax Marathon seats for my 4 year old in 3 different cars. I have my baby in the infant carrier. He is outgrowing it and needs a new seat. I've been told by many that i should put my baby into my 4 year olds Britax Marathons, and buy new seats for the 4 year old. If i do that am I still buying a convertible seat for the 4 year old... or a different booster with harness? Whats the deal -- what would you do? I need to buy 3 more seats. Thanks!

Re: Car seat question...
When we had to get a new seat for DD in my husband's car we got her the Graco Nautilus because it works as a harnessed seat, then converts to a high back booster that you would use with the seat belt when ready for that, then it converts to a backless booster. Last seat you ever have to buy.

This one? Seems so inexpensive! Wish I knew about this seat before buying 3 Britax Marathons lol

This is the seat. The reason it is cheaper is because it doesn't have the ability to rear face.

Car seat question...
When dd2 was ready to get out of her infant seat at a little over a year I took dd1s britax advocate for her.
Then for dd1 we bought the britax pinnacle. She's still in the five point harness, but eventually it does convert to a seatbelt booster high back.

Ahhhh... good to know. I am going to buy 3 of them and put the baby in the convertibles I already own. Those can still rear face. Thanks!

Re: Car seat question...
Id get a 5-point harness car seat booster that can convert to a high-back booster. I love our Britax (forget if it's a frontier or pioneer - something to do with the Wild West lol). We had some bad experiences with graco and are pretty loyal to Britax, but I know a lot of people love the graco version as well.

YUP!!! I have Graco Nautilus for my 3.5 and 6.5 year olds. they are great seats for a great price. love how they convert from harnessed, to high back booster using the car's seat belt, and then to a backless booster. so its all you need. They can't go rear facing though... but thats ok for your 4 year old. My boys actually like them better than the Britax Frontiers that we have in DHs car HAHA

Re: Car seat question...
We bought the Britax Frontier and moved my younger one to his brother's Marathon. My boys are 3.5 years apart. We tried the Nautilus out in the store, but DS1 said he wasn't comfortable in it.
My kids are older now and we moved my younger one to the Frontier recently and my older one to a high back booster (Evenflo Amp).

Re: Car seat question...
When DD was 4, I bought the Britax Pioneer (similar to Frontier, but a little less expensive), which is a harness-to-booster. We used the harness for past 2 years. Now that she is almost 7 and appropriate weight/height, we just switched it to the highback booster.

Car seat question...
my first 2 are 2.5 years apart. when the baby outgrew the infant seat, i moved him into the Britax marathon i had used for my oldest and bought my oldest a 5 point to booster seat. i decided to get him into something that he would be using for the long term and get my money's worth out of the convertible seats.
