Kalahari vs. Sesame Place

Which do you think would be better for a child who just turned 2? We want to go somewhere overnight this month and I'm trying to see what would be better for her. Thanks !

Kalahari vs. Sesame Place

I would vote Kalahari purely from an indoors aspect. We just got back from Sesame and it was just too damn hot to really enjoy anything. The heat made DD very sleepy and cranky and she didn't really want to walk around the park or wait on the ride lines. While the water rides were nice to cool off, the lines for them were incredibly long. Kalahari has a nice kiddie section with mini slides that a 2 year old would really like and a tiny lazy river. They also recently opened a large outdoor area that was under construction when we last went.

I would say Sesame because at that age they would enjoy the characters more.. .Kalahari is nice but I felt like my 4 year old enjoyed it more.

I would say sesame because it's DD1 and DD2's favorite. They love the characters.
Kalahari is fun too. We went just before DD2 turned 2. She loves slides, but doesn't like water spraying in her face or getting her head wet. She ended up having a blast and went on all the slides except the two tunnels.
I have to agree with a pp- I don't like to do amusement parks, or anything outside, lol, if it's very hot. We went this past weekend to Sesame and had a beautiful, not too crowded day on Saturday because the forecast wasn't great. Sunday was hotter and more crowded.

ETA- DD2 seemed to be one of the youngest doing the bigger children's slides at Kalahari (some older children were even afraid). Most of the 2 year olds were on the very small slides.

If you're looking to do Sesame Place, the fall is a great time. The water rides are turned off, but there was still plenty to do, plus they have a lot of great activities for Halloween. We took DS when he was 15 months and had a great time.

Sesame! You only get a few years where they'll be into Sesame, I'd cherish it when you can. Kalahari is awesome, but there is only a few things for little ones and it's a lot of WORK. I'd rather sit on the "Oscar's Trash Cans" ride with my little one than have to follow them around a kiddie pool and help them be entertained. Sesame has all the water stuff too, if that's important to you.

I know it isn't a choice, but if you are thinking Kalahari, I'd recommend Great Wolf Lodge. I've been to both Kalahari and GWL, and while Kalahari is better for 6yo and up, I think GWL is perfect for a 2yo. The decor, characters, and story night seem to cater to a younger crowd. That being said, I've never gone to Sesame.

Sesame is perfect for a two year old, especially if they know the characters. It is truly magical and really only good for the under four set because they outgrow it quickly. Kalahari is also outstanding, but I would go there when your child is slightly older. It is also fantastic. I would also consider great wolf because it has characters and story time too. As an adult, I prefer Kalahari or GW, but I have done all of them and each hold a special place in my heart.
