Packing cubes - question
I've seen the raves about these on here and am thinking about getting them for an upcoming trip. But, do I need them if space is not an issue? I have plenty of room in my suitcase for what I will be packing, so is there any benefit to the cubes? (my issue is always weight - always very close to the 50lb limit, not space)
I see how they could be helpful if just packing in a carry-on, but what about for a full size suitcase?
Thanks!

Packing cubes - question
They are really more for organizing...your clothes will still weigh the same. I don't care for them myself. I feel like I can cram more in without the cubes

agree, I feel like the cubes take up more room then just shoving the shit in alone

Packing cubes - question
I use cubes all the time. You will be able to fit more in the suitcase if done correctly. But more stuff means more weight. I have never been over the weight.

Packing cubes - question
I am not sure yet if they save more space as I just started using them. I do love the organizational factor. I do not unpack my stuff in hotels, I always feel like I will get bugs or something. We leave our stuff in the suitcases all the time. I like that my husband just goes to his cube and doesnt shuffle through all the bags making a disaster.

Re: Packing cubes - question
We used them for the first time for our cruise. It definitely did help with space. But the other perk was organization. I was able to just lift an entire cube and place it in a drawer, without pulling out all the individual items. We unpacked for 4 of us for 7 nights in under 5 minutes. I was also able to keep clothes in them, placed on a shelf, and the clothes didn't fall all over the place.

I don't unpack either! I don't like other people's crusty junk getting on my clothes They do NOT clean the drawers at most hotels...I always look!

The drawers totally gross me out. I travel with the hanging 6 shelf thing that you can hang from the closet rod. Buy them at five below

Packing cubes - question
i just bought some and haven't used them yet... but i got them more for organization rather than making room. We usually try to pack everything in just 1 or 2 bags---for 4 of us. So i figure with these we won't have to shuffle through each other's stuff as much- we'll each get our own couple of cubes. we go away in august, so we'll see!

Love this idea! I remember reading somewhere that some (disgusting) people use the drawers in the room to store their dirty clothes during their stay. Not that I ever used them in the first place but never will after hearing that.

I bring a mesh pop up hamper to throw our dirty clothes in! Then put the whole hamper back in the suitcase...easy peasy!
