When your last goes to Kindergarten

I know its weeks away but I'm so sad already. We went today and got her school supplies and packed everything into her big girl backpack. I had to lock myself in the bathroom and collect myself as the tears ran down my face. I was really sad when my oldest went 2 years ago but this is heart breaking. She has been my side kick, my little helper, my cuddler, my baby. She went to pre-k last year 5 days a week but we still had 4 hours a day to be together and I'm going miss her so much. I know I'll get over and have no idea what I'm looking for I just can't believe 5 years came and went so quickly and I'm going to have a house with no kids for 6 hours.

I can't even imagine and I'm sure you aren't the only one who feels this way. I get sad even when my guys have growth, like now they love to hold their own bottle ... however, if you are ever bored, I have 6 month old twins. You are free to come to my house anytime you want!!!!

I'm having the opposite problem. My oldest is going into 5th grade. Her last year at elementary school. It's so tough for. Me so I feel you.

Hugs, it will be ok. It is harder for you than it is for them. If you can, plan something for you to look forward to like a mani or a massage. Our school district offers a back to school parent breakfast and meet the principal right after drop off on the first day of school. It is a really great event because you get to meet new parents and it helps the new parents take their mind off of the first day. As a parent of a child who is experiencing the last first day of elementary school this year, I really understand what you are going through.

My 1st is going in to kindergarten and I truly can't believe it. Sometimes I still feel like she was just a little baby. I feel like it will be so quiet around the house she goes to school. :(

OMG... I'm crying just reading this post.
Mine is going into pre-K and I feel the same way.
How did this happen so fast? I just want to wrap him in a swaddle and hold him all day!!

My only is going into K in Sept and I am the opposite. I am so excited. No more daycare payments!!!!! I get a raise!!!!

Aidan starts kindergarten in Sept and im over the moon lol. When I moved to NH almost 4 years ago I was able to become a sahm. Well, I now know it takes a very special person to stay home and keep her sanity. My sanity has been long gone lol. Im going to get a job and be able to breathe again

My oldest is going into pre-k. I still have a year for kindergarten and can't believe it!! My other two are only 2 and 3 1/2 mos, but I know it will fly by with them too! Makes me so sad.

My youngest is going to K in Sept too and I am afraid of that moment when she gets on the bus and it pulls away. I then walk into an empty/quiet house. It will hit me but I will try to remember that when they go onto college is supposed to be the hardest. I have friends who have kids going into college and they are dealing with empty nest syndrome. Look at this this way...at least they still need you and will come home every day.
I am also lucky to have her. We had to go through IVF to get her, I am blessed.
