Collagen Peptides

Does anyone take Collagen Peptides?

I was curious if it really worked or was just another scam product.

I was looking at the Vital Proteins line and they have one that is supposed to help hair skin and nails but also digestion and joints.

Any feedback on this stuff? I'm curious about it.

I have been using Vital Proteins for a couple of months. I really don't see much of a difference in hair, nails or skin. At this point, I am really just using it to up my protein intake for workouts.

So after I posted I did a little research. There are some studies that say when you ingest the collagen your body just breaks it down like any other protein, it doesn't really survive the harsh pH of your stomach, etc so it doesn't do much for you hair skin, joints etc.

I found something called BioSil that is not a collagen but somehow is supposed to stimulate your body to produce more collagen. I might try that.

I was also a bit freaked out by the fact that the Vital Proteins Collagen was made from cow hides....
