question about underwear
This is a really weird question... So if you ever had a yeast infection, did you throw out all your underwear & get all new? I've been using pads while taking diflucan, but now that the infection is clearing up I don't want to continue wearing a pad every day but also don't want to wear my old underwear & start this all over again. Because I read that the heat of the washing machine alone doesn't kill the yeast & some people boil their underwear. Anyone try that? Hate to throw out all my nice undies that are still in good shape but will if I have to.

Re: question about underwear
How about some bleach in the wash? Will that kill the yeast? It never occurred to me to toss (or boil) undies!

I never heard of boiling the underwear. If you're that worried I would throw them out.

Re: question about underwear
What? Please. Wash them. It's a yeast infection, not the bubonic plague.

Re: question about underwear
I've never had a yeast infection, but from what I understand, they are relatively common. I can't imagine that people throw out their underwear after every one, so I think it is fine to just wash them regularly.

You'd also have to throw out your wash cloths too if you use wash cloths to clean your cha cha. And towels.

This
Wash them on hot if you're that concerned. But honestly, a regular wash is fine.
Also, wearing pads will not help the issue. Cotton undies only, no scented anything, and whenever possible, don't wear undies - sleep without them.

Re: question about underwear
I wouldn't think to throw out my underwear, just run them through a super hot cycle in the washing machine. Also, I always wear a very thin unscented pantiliner anyway so this wouldn't be an issue. I change the pantiliners throughout the day and it keeps my underwear fresh and clean feeling.

You'd also have to throw out your wash cloths too if you use wash cloths to clean your cha cha. And towels.
You'd also have to throw away your pots because you boiled yeasty underwear in them.

I agree, I'm sure washing with soap would kill anything.

Yeah can you imagine boiling your pasta in the pot you just boiled your yeasty drawers in ?
Better yet, just burn the whole damn house down!
