Original Post
Looking for a fun overnight or 2-3 day getaway suitable for a 19 month old. DC is still too young for amusement parks and don't know if the interest level is there yet for characters like Sesame Place. No more than three hour drive from LI please. Kid-friendly places like zoos and aquariums nearby a plus.
Thanks for the ideas!

Philadelphia has the "Please Touch Museum" which has toddler-aged attractions, as well as the Philadelphia Zoo. You could do the Crayola Factory on the way there/back.
Sesame Place definitely has rides and playground type stuff for a toddler.
If you guys are beach people, maybe the Jersey Shore? In addition to the beach, Point Pleasant has the boardwalk (Jenkinson's Pier) with toddler rides and a nice aquarium.
Mystic has a nice aquarium, but not sure if much else that would interest a 19 month old. I mean, there is the seaport and shops and stuff to walk around.
