Hate new neighbors:(

We bought a year ago and have since found our neighbor rents her house. First family was nice. New family moved in and they are nightmares. 5 teenagers. They yell and scream and curse each other out until 3am. Let their dog and cat roam free in the neighborhood. Hit balls into our backyard. (We are a corner lot so they are so close to us). Never bring in garbage pails. Just leave them out and fill them up. Have tons of kids over during the week until 11. You get the point. Have no respect. We pay a lot of money and bought in a nice neighborhood to avoid this. Any advice? I tried to be patient buts it's only getting worse.

contact your local civic association, let them put a complaint to the town on your behalf, or let them speak to home owner for you or or contact home owner and let them know, they might not know, let them speak to renters. Sorry it does suck
also, Nassue police have a POP unit suffolk have a similar unit to help with situation like this. They will approach the family with you as a team.

Sorry you are going thru this. Same thing happened to me a few years ago and i kept complaining to the landlord (who was also my landlord (mother/daughter house). Well, to get even with me the neighbors called the town on my house for a code violation and I ended up having to move out. It was a big disaster. No advice, but good luck. It really stinks :(

Can you talk with the landlord about these issues ?

If not, then you can call the police for the noise.
3AM is not acceptable, and I'm sure your other neighbors are bothered too.
Contact the town about the dog roaming freely, as well as the garbage cans sitting out (not sure if there is an ordinance about that).

Sounds like you live near me. You can try the cops but I don't think there is much that they can do. I suppose you could complain to the landlord. I think technically depending on the town you can only leave garbage cans out when it is garbage day. I live in the Town of Hempstead and I think this can be enforced. But not sure who would enforce it.
