Any suggestions on how to get her over this? She won't go outside for more than a few minutes and is practically paralyzed the whole time afraid of bees and mosquitos. It's definitely putting a damper on her summer fun.

What if you went to a place that has a butterfly garden? (I think the aquarium in Riverhead does?)

Maybe explaining that they are bugs too would help.

Welcome to my life. My son freaks out the minute he sees a fly and thinks everything is a bee. I don't have many suggestions excpt to maybe spray her with bug spray and tell her that bc she's wearing it the bugs won't come near her?

My 4 year old went through this last year. Same thing, she'd see a bug and wanted to run inside and stay there. This year, doesn't seem to be as bad. She still gets scared but seems able to control her fear a little more. I just tell her it won't hurt her.

We did this for DD and she screamed the whole time. Didn't help that the butterflies kept dive bombing her Chat Icon

It's just a phase - She will get over it Chat Icon

My DD was bad with bugs in the yard too, she definitely has gotten better, but still will ask occasionally if the bees are out yet.

I tried bug spray and that didn't help but I'll give it another try for sure. She has no issues with butterflies, it's specifically mosquitoes (though we rarely go out late in the day to avoid them) and bees. We have more than our fair share of bees but in 10 years no one's ever been stung. She's also fine in other people's yards or other outdoor places. It's only our yard that scares her.
