Misheard song lyrics
What are some songs that you've personally misheard?
I *know* that Eric Clapton is singing "Forever Man"... but even now, I swear he's singing "Poor Little Man"....

Re: Misheard song lyrics
This is one of my favorite topics!
Not me, but my daughter (she's 12). She gets lyrics wrong all. the. time. It's a never ending source of entertainment!
A few examples:
From the Over the Top soundtrack. There is a song called "Winner Takes it All" by Sammy Hagar. It should be "Winner takes it all, until he breaks the fall" My daughter kept singing, "Winner takes it all, dinner breaks the fall". She's still trying to convince me that it sounds like he's saying "dinner" lol
Country song, Body Like A Back Road by Sam Hunt. Should be: "Body like a back road, driving with my eyes closed, I know every curve like the back of my hand". She was convinced he was saying "Body like a back road, driving with my a$$ closed, I know every curve like the back of my hand." That was a funny conversation for sure.
She was in the car listening to the radio one day when the old song Secret Agent Man came on. I got into the car and she says, "This is a weird song. They're singing about a Secret Asian Man. Makes no sense!" Though I think there are other instances of people mishearing that particular lyric the same way. It was still funny because she was truly so confused!
Then there was probably my all time favorite. She was raving over a "REALLY old song. It's from the 80's by a guy with big hair named Bon Jovi." So I ask her what song it is and she starts belting out, "Jabba the Hutt, you're to blame, darling... you give love a bad name." The tears sprang into my eyes before the laughing came out of my mouth. I looked at her and said "whaaaaaat???? Jabba the Hutt???? It's 'shot through the heart'! Why would he even say Jabba the Hutt???? What would that have to do with anything else in the song?" I seriously couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard. And she responds with, "What? It was the 80s! Who understands ANYTHING they did in the 80s????"
Touche.
Anyway. Those are just a few. I could seriously create one of my own misheard lyrics websites with just her input.

Re: Misheard song lyrics
On ED sheerans last CD he has a song called dive
the lryics are "Before I dive right into you". At first I thought it was before I die fighting for you I realized after the second time I heard what it really was but I am still tempted to say the wrong words.
Another song he has on the same cd is what do I know and for the life of me I could not figure out he was saying piano for this line "We could change this whole world with a piano" seriously all I kept hearing was DNO I knew it wasnt right so I looked it up and now I hear it right

You're actually pretty close. It's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", not "in the garden of eden"
It's the written name of the song, and the album.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Though it was not recorded until their second album, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" was written during Iron Butterfly's early days. According to drummer Ron Bushy, organist/vocalist Doug Ingle wrote the song one evening while drinking an entire gallon of red mountain wine. When the inebriated Ingle then played the song for Bushy, who wrote down the lyrics for him, he was slurring his words so badly that what was supposed to be "in the Garden of Eden" was interpreted by Bushy as "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida".[8] Catalogs.com confirmed that the song "was supposed to have been named 'In The Garden of Eden', but the singer was slurring his words when he told Ron Bushy, the drummer, the title, and the garbled name stuck."

Misheard song lyrics
My two favorites - my grandmother probably 30 years ago was singing the BeeGee's More than a Woman as Bald Headed Woman. We kept telling her the right words and she insisted she was correct. She sang that song her whole life because she loved it and we laughed every single time. We played it at her funeral.
My daughter and her friends - Some song I have no idea what that is on that Musically App has the line Vomit in my hair and I don't seem to care. They are all singing Vamanos in my hair. I'm like ummm it's vomit and that's gross and they say no it's spanish....whatever lol.

Re: Misheard song lyrics
I know this makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever, but when it first came out, I thought Lady Gaga was singing "boneless with hay" instead of "born this way"
