I can't remember if I did it at 5 months with my ds or younger.

My pediatrician said we could start at 4 months but I was more comfortable with 6+ months.

6 months.
We waited until DD could replace the paci herself. She cried one night for 15 minutes and that was the worst of it.

That was when we transitioned her to her crib anyway

this.
we just dealt with sleepless nights from 4-6 months. once we did CIO at 6 months, took about a week before he was STTN.
